Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The address standard aims to achieve consistency around the data collected for UBC Campus Address (Vancouver and Okanagan campuses), and the format in which it is collected and stored in across the University. This will include the physical locations in a standardized form for all civic and non-civic addresses at UBC to be shared with Emergency Responders.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The Standard for coding UBC Campus Location address is adopted from the Physical Address and Geocoding Standards, developed by the government of British Columbia. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The conceptual model consists of an information model that defines the hierarchy, classes and spatial associations needed to represent sites and physical addresses, and a service model for geocoding. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>https://cio.ubc.ca/data-governance/policies-standards-guidelines/data-standards/campus-address-data-standard</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>The following are the data elements that make up a campus address:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>Unit_Designator</SPAN></P></TD><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>The type of unit</SPAN></P></TD></TR><TR><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>Unit_Number_Prefix</SPAN></P></TD><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>A single alphabetic character or list of alphabetic characters and ranges, that is placed before the unit number.</SPAN></P></TD></TR><TR><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>Unit_Number</SPAN></P></TD><TD><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN>The number or range of numbers that identify units/ suites/buildings within a building or complex. For ADDRESS_DESCRIPTOR = CampusBldg, this must be a single value not a range.</SPAN></P></TD></TR><TR><TD><P><SPAN>Unit_Number_Suffix</SPAN></P></TD><TD><P><SPAN>A single alphabetic character or list of alphabetic characters and ranges, that follow the unit number. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></TD></TR><TR><TD><P><SPAN>Site_Name</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></TD><TD><P><SPAN>A string containing the name of a site. A business or occupant name should only be used if it is permanently affixed to the site and the site has no other, more generic name (ADDRESS_DESCRIPTOR = {Occupant, Commercial}).</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>If a site is a unit within a complex, it may have a sitename in addition to a unitNumber and unitNumberSuffix. This site name will be repeated for each unit.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></TD></TR><TR><TD><P><SPAN>Super_Full_Site_Descriptor</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></TD><TD><P><SPAN>Name of all units, buildings and sites in parent site hierarchy separated by a double dash.
